Current Position:

Dr. Ruchir Divatia is senior consultant neurologist practising at Neurology & Epilepsy Clinic.He is heading the department of neurology at K.D. Hospital, Vaishnodevi circle, Ahmedabad and is visiting neurologist at HCG Hospital, Mithakhali, Ahmedabad.

Experience:

Dr. Ruchir Divatia has been practising in Ahmedabad since 2005. He has been instrumental in developing department of neurology at Narayana multispeciality hospital, Ahmedabad. He has also developed outreach neurology clinic at Hatkesh Hospital, Junagadh, only such center in the entire district. Several technologists have been trained by him in neuroelectrophysiology.

Education and Training:

Dr. Ruchir Divatia graduated in medicine from B.J.Medical college, Ahmedabad in 1997 and did his post-graduation in medicine from NHL municipal medical college, V.S. General hospital from 1998 to 2001. He was then selected for residency program in Neurology at the prestigious Sree Chitra Tirunal institute for medical sciences and technology (SCTIMST), Trivandrum which is an institute of national importance. He received training under Prof. K. Radhakrishnan who is one of the leading experts in epilepsy worldwide. It was at R. Madhavan Nair centre for comprehensive epilepsy care, SCTIMST established by Prof. K. Radhkrishnan he imbibed the concept of comprehensive epilepsy care and developed his vision for the same. Neuroelectrophysiology (EEG, Video EEG, nerve conduction studies and EMG), movement disorders, disorders related to memory, neuromuscular disorders, stroke and language disorders following stroke are other specific areas where he focused during his training at SCTIMST.

VISION

  • Providing outpatient (at neurology and epilepsy clinic) and inpatient care (at hospitals mentioned) for patients with neurological disorders combining scientific and ethical approach with empathy.
  • Spreading awareness and health education in common neurological disorders like epilepsy, stroke, Parkinson’s disease and dementia
  • Focus on neuroelectrophysiology.
  • Developing a neurology team for advancement of subspecialties.
